Description
Shopbop is looking for a seasoned, results-oriented Senior Buyer for Apparel. The buyer will have a deep understanding of the business’ and vendors' needs and can profitably translate those needs into the right category strategy for the SB customer. This individual will also have applicable experience in assortment planning, in-season management, vendor negotiations, and co-op management.
The successful candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with strong business judgment, acute analytical skills, compelling presentation skills, strong relationships in the Contemporary market segment, and will have the demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and will have a track record of successful negotiation and overall relationship building and management. Proven leadership and project management skills are a must.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of creating, defining, and implementing procurement strategy experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the vendors that make up the Apparel market segment, both established and emerging.
- Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience required.
- Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing direct reports of varying levels.
- Fashion-forward sensibility and the demonstrated ability to identify key items and trends in the marketplace and execute a merchandising strategy to profitability drive sales.
- Strong numeric and analytic aptitude, including in-depth understanding of Open-To-Buy financial metrics.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of and drive business performance.
- High level of professionalism and positive, forward-thinking, team oriented attitude.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
