About the Role
We are looking for an Application Engineer to join our Aerospace and Defense market in Dundee UK. In this role, you will provide application support to enable sales growth at existing and new customers. The ideal candidate for this role would be energized by the A&D industry and passionate about customer applications and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer technical requirements and map them to appropriate Gore product solutions.
- Collaborate with sales, application engineers, and product teams to support Aerospace and Defence programs.
- Respond promptly to customer requests for technical support, including quality issues and/or integration issues in partnership with operations, sales and product specialists globally.
- Verify and validate that existing products meet fitness for use based on customer application requirements including the integration and use of the product. This includes coordinating internal testing in support of customer validation processes.
- Partner with the product and technical team to analyze competitive alternatives and assess Gore’s product positioning and value proposition.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline preferred).
- Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance
- Familiarity with RF (Radio Frequency) technology.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Applications Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar technical customer-facing role.
- Ability to interpret customer technical specifications, drawings, test requirements, and qualification standards.
- Proven ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects and/or customer support activities.
- Proven ability to create and communicate comprehensive technical reports using analytical, problem solving, creative thinking, and reasoning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills rooted in the ability to positively influence, build long-term relationships and trustful networks with customers as well as colleagues.
- Ability to influence cross functional teams to drive results internally and externally
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically, with the possibility of international travel
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Aerospace and Defense applications.
- Experience with RF measurement equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
- Knowledge of radar, EW, satellite/space communications, and associated test challenges/principals.
- Curiosity about emerging RF technologies
