About the Role
We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our PE Team at GPS Shenzhen BAN plant. In this role, you will understand ‘fitness for use’ principle, and lead commercial product variant (CPV) development, validation and commercialization while also providing manufacturing support for commercial products. Additionally, you will offer engineering support to supply chain initiatives, e.g., cost saving, quality improvement, manufacturing capability set up, and capacity increase.
Responsibilities
· Drive the CPV (commercial product variant) opportunity, ensuring on-time and on-target delivery in partner with cross-functional teams. Influence product design based on Design for Manufacturing and cost Principles.
· Define, execute, and document a wide range of engineering projects, including cost saving initiatives, manufacturing capability or capacity set up/relocation, process validation, and risk mitigation activities related to quality/customer complaints.
· Understand critical process parameters and raw attributes to reliably deliver a fit for use product that meets all specifications and customer requirements.
· Apply problem-solving techniques to determine root cause, troubleshoot non-conforming products, raw materials, and components, and develop and implement corrective and preventative action.
· Provide oversight of CM problem-solving activities and step in with technical leadership when issues exceed CM capability, require cross-functional alignment, or significantly impact safety, quality, or customer experience.
· Document and communicate effectively current work state with regional/global cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
· B.S. or above in engineering or science (Polymer, Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical, Material, Automotive) or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 3 years of process engineering experience in electronic/automotive is highly desirable.
· Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical tools to development, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
· Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, including underlying root cause, and take appropriate action to address.
· Ability to plan and lead projects from development to completion while meeting timelines and deliverables.
· Effectively communicates and documents technical information and data.
· Self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize multiple projects on aggressive timelines.
· Eager and fast to learn new things.
· Excellent command of English in business environment.
· Ability to travel up to 15% (if applicable).
