About the Role
We are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join the Analytical Services Team. In this role, you will provide chemical testing services in support of new product development. It is a hands-on testing role in a regulated environment requiring quick turnaround times while executing high-quality work.
This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of small molecule compounds present on medical devices using liquid chromatographic analytical techniques
- Perform method development and optimization activities
- Collaborate with project engineers and laboratory scientists to determine testing strategies and plans
- Document procedures, test methods, observations, results, and other records in a quality system or technical notebook
- Effectively manage projects and communicate information with engineering teams or other parties of interest
- Perform general lab support duties such as ordering supplies, laboratory cleaning, glassware washing, media/reagent preparation, and equipment maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace
- Participate in continuous laboratory improvement efforts, including driving document changes in a quality system
- Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline and Minimum 3 years (or minimum 1 year with an MS degree) professional lab experience
- Experience working with liquid chromatographic laboratory instrumentation (LC-UV) and methodologies for quantification of small molecule entities
- Ability to design and execute experiments and analyze data, including test method development
- Ability to independently manage testing and project work to completion in a timely manner
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with team members for test planning and reporting of results
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and ability to follow established safety practices
- Demonstrated ability to work within a continuously changing environment, meet tight deadlines, and be motivated to provide excellent customer service
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in other chromatography instrumentation, such as LC-MS, GC, GC-MS, GPC
- Experience writing technical documents within a quality system environment
