Role Description

TiER1 is looking for an Automation and Power Platform Intern with a strong interest in exploring a career in consultative design.

Internship Eligibility
Candidates should:

  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely
  • Be a full-time incoming sophomore, junior, senior, or advanced degree college student by the start of their internship
  • Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas, particularly in writing
  • Be able to complete a 10-week+, 40-hour-a-week paid internship at our Cincinnati or Pittsburgh offices, or in Atlanta
  • Submit the following information: Completed application including your resume, work samples and ideal internship statement

Responsibilities
Focus: Business process improvement, automation (Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Copilot Frontier), and solution development

You will help project teams to:

  • Document current-state workflows through interviews, workshops, and process mapping
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation or simplification
  • Design and building automations using Power Automate, Copilot Frontier, and Copilot Studio
  • Support development of Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, integrations, data flows)
  • Prototype AI-assisted workflows that accelerate project setup, documentation, and knowledge capture
  • Test, refine, and document solutions to ensure usability and reliability
  • Prepare deliverables and supporting working sessions with stakeholders

You will contribute to internal initiatives focused on:

  • Building automations to streamline project setup and onboarding workflows
  • Developing an AI-enabled system to capture, organize, and maintain client dossiers and portfolios

Application and Timeline
Internships occur in the fall, spring, and summer. Application reviews and interviews typically occur in October, February and June. The timeline will depend on when you apply, but you will know if there are any next steps within a few weeks of submitting your application.

Location

  • We enjoy a combination of in-person and virtual work, with 50% or more of our time in our office or at a client site.
  • This internship can be based in Cincinnati, OH,, Pittsburgh, PA, or Indianapolis, IN. Please note that we do not provide room and board, except when we request that you travel (e.g., for onboarding). TiER1 SCHOLARSHIPS

TiER1 offers a limited number of needs-based scholarships to students who participate in our internship program. Details are described below.

Purpose

To achieve our mission, we seek to attract high performing consultants of varied backgrounds, creating a diverse, inclusive, and highly collaborative culture. TiER1 wants to create more space for students who experience socioeconomic challenges and could benefit from tuition and/or internship housing/transportation assistance. While TiER1 internships are open to everyone, our scholarships are intended for students who accept an internship with TiER1 Performance and who face serious financial hardship. TiER1 will offer a limited number of $2,500 scholarships that can be applied toward the student's tuition and/or housing/transportation during their TiER1 internship.

Scholarship Eligibility

In order to be considered for a scholarship, candidates must:

  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely,
  • Read our scholarship statement and confirm they are experiencing financial hardship that threatens their education or internship opportunity,
  • Submit a statement of how the financial assistance will be used and will help.

Timeline and Other Details
Scholarships are considered and communicated at the same time as internship opportunities. In other words, if you are awarded a scholarship this will be explained in an internship offer letter. Compensation for the internship is in addition to the $2,500 award.
