Primary Purpose

The design, delivery and maintenance of first class software solutions and automations that provide demonstrable value and drive innovation for both internal GAIN teams and our clients.

Main Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and operate AIdriven, cloudnative marketing products (including GAINIQ platforms such as Spirea and Lupine), using a modern serverless stack (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Supabase Postgres) and thirdparty services (GCP Veo, Stripe) to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions for our customers.

Technology

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3 and Supabase Postgres in a cloudnative, serverless architecture.
• Implement endtoend product features, including data models, integrations, and where required frontend components, from requirements through to deployment into Production.
• Build and integrate AI/LLMdriven workflows (e.g. using GCP Veo and other AI services) that are robust, observable, and costeffective.
• Integrate and maintain thirdparty services such as Stripe (billing, subscriptions, trials, dunning) and relevant ad/marketing platforms, handling edge cases and error conditions gracefully.
• Ensure solutions adhere to agreed coding standards, development methodologies, and architectural guidelines defined by the Head of Engineering / VP Engineering.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of system architecture, including data flows across acquisition, activation, purchase, and support journeys.
• Participate fully in the development life cycle, including estimation, design, implementation, code review, testing, and deployment.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation (APIs, data models, integration contracts) to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Management, Design, Data, and Support teams to understand requirements, refine solutions, and ensure successful delivery to endusers.
• Collaborate with the customer support team (L1/L2) to investigate and resolve production issues, feeding learnings back into product and platform improvements.
• Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of engineers where needed, supporting a highperforming engineering culture
  
  

Professional skills/ experience:

• Strong experience as a Software Engineer or similar role, building and operating production web applications or SaaS products in a cloudnativeenvironment
• Handson experience with at least one modern programming language used in our stack (e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript or Python
• Practical experience with serverless / cloudnativearchitectures on AWS (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM), and relational databases such as Postgres (Supabase experience advantageous)
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and working with thirdparty APIs (e.g. Stripe, AI/ML services, ad platforms)
• Familiarity with event driven and asynchronous patterns (queues, workers, scheduled jobs) for resilient integrations.
• Understanding of modern DevOps practices (version control, CI/CD, environment management, observability).
• Exposure to AI/ML or LLM based systems (prompting, evaluation, cost management, failure modes) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of information security best practices and regulatory considerations for SaaS products is a plus
