About the role

We are expanding our Product Management team and are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our team of systems engineers and help shape the user experience of complex medical software for radiation therapy.

As part of the team, you will complement the systems engineers’ expertise in defining product functionality, collecting and documenting user needs, specifying clinical workflows, and preparing initial concepts and wireframes. You will bring strong interaction and visual-design skills, transforming complex clinical workflows and requirements into clear, intuitive, and consistent user interfaces.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Create UX/UI concepts, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for complex medical software.
• Transform user needs, software requirements, workflows, and initial concepts into effective interface designs.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, testers, clinical experts, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in workshops and discussions with customers and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and workflows.
• Maintain, extend, and improve the existing design system.
• Define reusable components, interaction patterns, layouts, and visual guidelines.
• Ensure consistency across the product while considering complex clinical workflows and safety-related information.
• Prepare design specifications and other documentation needed for implementation and developer handoff.
• Review implemented interfaces and help ensure that they conform to the approved designs.
• Contribute to usability evaluations and the continuous improvement of the user experience.

Required qualifications and skills

• 3+ years of professional experience designing user interfaces and experiences for software products.
• High proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or comparable interface-design and prototyping tools.
• Strong interaction and visual-design skills, with a solid understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and information presentation.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and evolving a design system for a complex software product.
• Understanding of software-development processes and comfort collaborating with developers and other technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collect, document, and translate structured requirements and workflow descriptions into intuitive interface solutions.
• Strong communication skills and an open, constructive approach to discussion and teamwork.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with healthcare, medical devices, or other safety-critical or regulated software.
• Experience with usability engineering or human-factors activities.
• Familiarity with regulations and standards applicable to medical software.
• Experience with agile software-development processes and tools such as Jira.
• Knowledge of front-end development principles or previous experience collaborating closely with software developers.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
