Our amazing #TeamSlighean in North Lanarkshire are now on the lookout for caring, compassionate and flexible colleagues to join them as a Support Practitioner on a permanent basis.
The Role
The main purpose of your role will be to support two new school leavers who are getting ready start the next part of their life by attending college. With a passion for music, comedy, dancing and acting as well as a love for Olly Murs and Taylor Swift, no two days will be the same. Having an empathic and supportive approach whilst having an outgoing and fun loving personality will allow for hours of fun in this supportive role where you can make a real difference to the people we support.
About You
At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
All we’ll need you to bring is: -
- A caring attitude and approach
- Good communication skills
- A positive approach to learning
- An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
- Confidence in the use of computers.
Having a full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial but not essential.
Shift Patterns
As we are dedicated to providing tailored support to each individual, the normal rota for this service would be will be typically 8am-4pm depending on transport arrangements to college. There will also be addition hours per week to provide support out in the community to access clubs and services.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
