Our amazing #TeamBuckie are now on the lookout for new colleagues to join them on a part-time basis (18, 20 or 22 hours per week) and relief basis. So, if you're caring and patient with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour, you could be just who we're looking for!
The Role
The great thing about being a Support Practitioner is no two days are ever the same. You'll join one of our services where your main aim will be to provide support to an individual or individuals within in their own home in Buckie. You'll assist with all aspects of daily life including finances, medication, cooking and housework. We'll also need you to be enthusiastic about supporting with hobbies and interests too, these include swimming, bingo, going to the cinema, pamper days and a variety of in-house & outdoor activities.
About You
Don't have experience, don't worry, here at Cornerstone we recruit on values and transferrable skills. It's not about what experience and qualifications you have, we're interested in what you as an individual will bring to our team. We have our own Training Academy who'll support you by giving you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too.
As some of the people we support have their own mobility car, we are ideally looking for candidates with a full driving licence and at least one years' experience on the roads.
All we need you to bring is:-
- A caring and compassionate attitude and approach
- The ability to work well in a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
- Confidence to go in the water, as swimming is a regular activity
- Confidence in the use of computers
Shift Patterns
As we are dedicated to providing around the clock support that is tailored to the needs of each individual, shifts currently fall into patterns of early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends, sleepovers or waking nights may also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Our sleepover shifts do not form part of your contracted hours. You will receive an additional payment of £96 for every sleepover shift that you work! Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus £20 per waking night shift worked.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
