Are you ready to build the next intelligence layer for professional services?

Hi, I’m Jaakko, one of the founders at Agileday, and I’m looking for a Founding AI Data Scientist to join our product and engineering team.

Agileday is the AI operating platform for professional services. Our product connects people, skills, staffing, sales, projects, time, and financials in one real-time platform.

AI is already deeply embedded in Agileday. Our product supports intelligent staffing, skills inference, forecasting, recommendations, content generation, and agent-driven workflows. Through our MCP layer, AI systems can access live operational context and safely execute actions across the platform.

We’re looking for a Founding AI Data Scientist to help us take an already advanced AI product into its next stage. This is not a traditional Data Scientist role focused on analysing historical data, producing reports, or running isolated experiments. We’re looking for an experienced, AI-native product builder who can turn complex data into intelligent capabilities used by real customers.

The role

You’ll take the lead in building the data intelligence dimension of Agileday’s AI product.

One of your defining responsibilities will be to transform the growing volume of real operational data across our platform into a connected, AI-ready data foundation. You’ll explore how customer and platform data can be responsibly combined with relevant external and public data to create intelligent product capabilities that learn, improve, and help professional services organisations make better decisions.

This is a hands-on founding role. We expect you to develop a strong point of view on what should be built, identify opportunities within our data, and take the most valuable ideas from exploration into reliable production use.

You’ll work closely with our founders and product team. You’ll provide direction within your area while remaining close enough to the technology and data to build, test, and ship.

Your work may include:

  • Building a connected, AI-ready data foundation for an industry-specific SaaS platform

  • Finding valuable patterns and product opportunities within large volumes of customer data

  • Developing predictive, recommendation, optimisation, and decision-support capabilities

  • Creating learning systems and feedback loops that improve our data, models, and product over time

  • Exploring how AI and collective intelligence can strengthen organisational decision-making

  • Connecting data intelligence with Agileday’s agents, AI architecture, and MCP capabilities

  • Taking promising solutions from experimentation into reliable production use together with the product team.

  • Shaping the models, technologies, tools, architecture, and quality standards within your area

The goal is to build commercially valuable capabilities that work with real production data and create measurable customer value.

You’ll likely feel at home in this role if you

  • Have strong applied AI, machine learning, and data expertise

  • Have built AI or ML capabilities that reached production and were used by real customers

  • Are deeply familiar with modern AI technologies and how the field is evolving

  • Can work across data, models, evaluation, architecture, and implementation

  • Are comfortable with large, complex, imperfect, and business-critical datasets

  • Think like a product builder and start with the customer or business problem

  • Can independently identify what should be built without waiting for a predefined roadmap

  • Know how to distinguish an interesting experiment from a valuable product capability

  • Can provide technical direction while remaining genuinely hands-on

  • Take ownership and communicate clearly across technical, product, and business teams

Experience with recommendation systems, predictive modelling, generative AI, learning and feedback systems, production data pipelines, cloud platforms, model deployment, observability, or AI evaluation is valuable.

We don’t expect one person to be an expert in everything. We care about your judgement, technical range, product thinking, and ability to choose and implement the right approach.

About the team

Agileday is the AI operating platform for professional services, built for organisations ranging from 50 to 10,000 employees. We serve customers across 11 countries and, following our Series A funding, are entering an ambitious phase of international growth and product development.

We’re a team of around 30 people, backed by international VCs. Our senior-leaning team includes experienced product builders who take ownership, challenge ideas, and move quickly without unnecessary layers. You’ll work especially closely with the people building Agileday’s agents, AI architecture, and permission-aware MCP capabilities.

We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Our culture is ambitious, relaxed, supportive, and human. You’ll have direct access to our founders and product leadership, genuine influence within your area, and the freedom to help choose the technologies and tools needed to build it.

Compensation and location

Our compensation combines a competitive base salary with a meaningful share of equity. The exact package depends on your experience, preferences, location, and the scope of the role.

The role is remote-friendly, and we’re open to exceptional candidates internationally. Your working hours should allow regular collaboration with our core product and engineering team in Finland.

You’re also warmly welcome to work from or visit our HQ in Espoo.

Interested?

Start with “Hi Jaakko”, skip the formalities, and tell us:

  • Why this particular challenge and Agileday caught your attention

  • Why you would be a strong fit for this founding-level role

  • What you personally owned and what impact the solution created

Show us something real where possible: a product, system, technical case, architecture, repository, or story that helps us understand how you think and build.

We care more about relevant evidence, sound judgement, genuine curiosity, and production experience than a generic cover letter.
